FAMILY HISTORY:

The directors of Ahmed Yousuf (Private) Limited are proud members of the Chiniot Shaikh Biradari, rooted in the esteemed KHAS Group/KHAS Family, a prominent business lineage hailing from Chiniot, Punjab, Pakistan.

The family's entrepreneurial journey began with Molvi Sons in 1947, founded in Karachi by brothers Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob and Mr. Muhammad Ayub. Initially exporting raw hides and skins to the UK and Japan, Molvi Sons transitioned to producing semi-finished leather (tanning) at their ‘Rangiwara’ Tannery in Karachi in 1960.

In 1960, KHAS TRADERS, later KHAS PVT LTD, was established as a partnership venture by Mr. Shaikh Mazhar Yaqoob and his four brothers, namely Mr. Muhammad Junaid, Mr. Masood Ahmed Shaikh, Mr. Abdul Mannan and Mr. Abdul Hanan, sons of Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob. This enterprise delved into the manufacturing of finished leather, setting up their first tannery in 'Rangiwara' in Karachi.

The family's business expanded internationally from 1965 to 1970, with ventures in East Pakistan.

KHAS GLOVES, founded in 1970, became a leading exporter of industrial gloves from Pakistan, earning eight export trophies over four decades.

In the same year, CHEMPAK PVT LTD, later renamed KHASTAN PVT LTD, was established in China Chowk, Sialkot, exporting leather to Japan in collaboration with PACIFIC LEATHER. This tannery later diversified into the domestic market.

The 1980s saw the establishment of another tannery by KHAS PVT LTD in Karachi's Korangi Industrial Area, exporting finished leather to Europe, South Africa, and the Far East.

In 1990, KHAS SHOES PVT LTD and FLEX FOOTWEAR were founded, producing and exporting shoe uppers primarily to Italy, reaching a production rate of 3,000 shoe uppers per day.

Established in 1990, General Leather PVT LTD set up its operations at 21 km Ferozepur Road in Lahore. Initially focusing exclusively on 'sole' production for export, the company imported raw materials for its manufacturing processes. General Leather PVT LTD ceased its operations in 2010.
